How do we access weekly films?

We screen all films together during our weekly meetings so everyone can enjoy the full movie‑night experience as a group. But don’t worry if you miss a week we also share streaming links whenever they’re available, along with notes or discussion prompts so you can still take part. Our goal is to make every film accessible, welcoming, and easy to follow, whether you’re watching in the room with us or catching up later.

Do I need to be a film student to join?

Not at all! ReelTalk is open to every Sheridan student, no matter your program, background, or level of movie knowledge. You don’t need to analyze cinematography or know famous directors — just bring your curiosity and love for stories. We’re a friendly, mixed group of fans, and we love hearing fresh perspectives from people studying all different fields.

Where do meetings take place?

Our weekly screenings are held in Room 204, a cozy and accessible space where we can dim the lights, grab snacks, and settle in for a great film. For larger or themed events, we often use the Student Lounge to create a more social atmosphere. Both spaces are fully accessible, featuring ramp and elevator access, wide seating areas, and adjustable lighting. For members with hearing or visual needs, captioned screenings and seat placement options are available upon request.

Can I suggest a movie?

Absolutely! We love when members share films they’re excited about. Whether it’s a comfort movie, an international gem, a new release, or something you think deserves more appreciation, your suggestions help shape our weekly lineup. You can pitch your movie ideas during meetings or send them through our Movie Suggestion Form — either way, we’re always eager to check out new picks.
